About Split Rock Farm, Inc.
Split Rock Farm, a full service show jumping facility located in the heart of the Bluegrass in Lexington, KY, was founded in 2001 by Derek Braun. We offer a wide variety of sale horses and training at all levels.
Derek Braun has been a successful competitor in USEF competition since he began riding at age 7 and by the age of 16, he had become one of the premiere junior riders in America by winning two of the most prestigious junior national championships. In 2001, he won the BET/USET Talent Search Equitation Finals in Gladstone, New Jersey. In 2002, Derek brought home Team Gold at the National Junior Jumper Championships and Prix De States at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show. While Attending College at Rollins College in Winter Park Florida, Derek continued his dedication to the sport. During the summer of 2003, Derek traveled abroad to compete in Holland where he came home victorious in the Amateur Grand Prix of Valkenswaard. In 2007, immediately after graduating from college, Derek turned professional and founded Split Rock Farm. From the summer of 2007 through 2014 Derek has had numerous top grand prix wins and placings throughout the USA and Canada at notable competitions such as the Bromont QC (CAN), Angelstone (CAN), The Winter Equestrian Festival, The New Albany Classic, The American Gold Cup, The Pennsylvania National, The Hampton Classic, Kentucky, The National Hors Show, and HITS Ocala. Derek has also represented the USET. In 2013 he competed at the CSIO4*-W Porto Alegre (BRA).
